Structured Data (Schema)
In one sentence
Use schema.org standards to annotate organization, article, FAQ, and product data within webpages, so search engines and AI can understand the content without guessing.
Structured data is embedded in the webpage code and invisible to human visitors. It explicitly tells machines: this is an article, who wrote it, and when it was published; or this is an FAQ section, defining each question and answer pair.
Common types include Organization, Article, FAQPage, Product, and BreadcrumbList.
Example
Adding FAQPage structured data to an FAQ page lets search engines directly identify each question-and-answer pair.
