Knowledge Base

知识库AI Glossary

In one sentence

A repository of company documents and institutional knowledge that AI can search and reference, enabling it to answer questions and produce content grounded in internal facts.

A knowledge base typically holds product documentation, pricing policies, customer FAQs, case studies, style guides, and internal policies. When answering questions or writing, AI first retrieves relevant content from the knowledge base, then generates text based on it.

The quality of the knowledge base determines the quality of AI output: outdated, contradictory, or unsourced material leads to incorrect answers. Update it regularly and include dates and sources for every entry.

Example

When a new hire asks 'How many years is our product warranty?', AI retrieves the answer from the After-Sales Policy in the knowledge base and cites the source.
