SKILL
In one sentence
A standardized operating procedure written for an AI agent that defines how to run a specific task, the sequence of steps, which materials to use, and the final delivery format.
For the same type of task, writing ad-hoc prompts every time leads to hit-or-miss results. Once you codify the process into a SKILL, anyone who runs it gets the exact same workflow executed consistently. It is also easier for teams to share and refine.
A typical SKILL includes: when to use it, required inputs, step-by-step workflow, quality checks for each step, and final output format.
Example
A SKILL for "Writing a Job Posting" specifies: first collect the role, salary range, and location, then draft the post in five sections: Company Overview, Responsibilities, Requirements, Benefits, and How to Apply.
